About This Project

The provision of care close to home for inhabitants in rural areas has declined more and more in recent decades. This development has an impact on the shopping and mobility behaviour and consequently on the quality of life of the population. It is mainly socially weaker and older population groups and within these groups especially women who are affected by the negative development. As a result, the project “NAHMOBIL: Local Supply & Mobility. Innovative Local Supply Concepts in Rural Areas from a Gender Perspective” collected data on the mobility and local supply situation of women in rural areas. From this data, the project team developed recommendations for environmentally friendly mobility solutions and innovative local supply forms.
