About This Project

Walking is a form of mobility and at the same time a way of living. Pedestrians make a city lively. A nice surrounding and green element makes walking attractive. Researchers in GOGREEN looked at the criteria how greenery affects the share of pedestrians?

Walking is both a form of mobility and a way of life. Because in urban spaces, pedestrians enliven the cityscape. Incentives to walk include pedestrian-friendly design of the street space and also the greenery of the streets. The research team in the project GoGreen – The influence of greening urban spaces on active mobility therefore dealt with the question of how planners can promote active mobility by greening public spaces.
