About This Project

DRIVE – Integrative building blocks for incentives for the use of transport bicycles in companies.

Transport bikes are increasingly replacing private cars in large cities. In addition, it is a good idea to use transport bicycles for passenger transport journeys. However, these journeys have so far been given little consideration when it comes to CO2 savings. Journeys in passenger transport are usually characterised by short distances in inner-city areas. The transport bike offers a chance to save CO2 and at the same time bring advantages for commercial transport (e.g. no need to search for a parking space, cost savings). The research project ANTRIEB starts here and poses the central research questions: Which measures and incentives on the part of the federal government, the state, the municipality are necessary so that more companies switch to transport bikes? How can transport bicycles be integrated into everyday business life? What measures and incentives are required to ensure that the transport bikes are also used by the employees?
