About This Project

HAUSRAD Climate-friendly and target group-suitable mobility services in the residential environment with transport bike

Transport bikes can be used in many ways as a climate-friendly means of transport and have the potential to replace car transport journeys. They are already established in large cities, but hardly used in small towns and rural areas.

The HAUSRAD project aims to design transport bike-based new mobility services (NMS). The NDS should be easy to integrate into everyday life and meet the requirements of different target groups in small towns and rural areas. To this end, the attitudes and needs of (potential) users will be surveyed, among other things, by means of an Austria-wide representative survey. Based on the results of the survey, we will design NMS together with the pilot municipalities of Amstetten and St. Andrä/Wördern, which will then be tested for their practical suitability. Subsequently, we develop a concept on how the developed transport bike-based NMS can be implemented in other municipalities in Austria.
