Not only pedestrians but also cyclists are given more space by the City of Vienna in coronavirus times. Since 7 May 2020 Vienna has a new pop-up cycle path. The new temporary cycle path is located in the Praterstraße. According to the cycle counting station at Praterstern, the number of cyclists on this neuralgic route has increased by 66%. The existing infrastructure was therefore not sufficient to enable safe and comfortable cycling on the Praterstrasse. The cyclists accept the new cycle path well. More temporary cycle lanes are under discussion.
